On Sunday 20th September, from dawn until dark, Wildworks will be running 7 showings of an immersive soundscape on the cliffs of Botallack, Cornwall, written by Mercedes Kemp and directed by Artistic Director Mydd Pharo.

This journey in sound and landscape explores themes of connectedness and isolation and is inspired by Mercedes experiences of living at the edge.

There are times when one hangs
Suspended, hovering
Between the past and the future.
There aren’t very many times like this
Lightheaded, pregnant with possibility,
Wondering where
The next footstep
Will fall.
This is one such.
Mercedes Kemp

Audience information

We normally set up our shows so there are elements of surprise in what you’re coming to but right now it feels more important we explain in detail how we plan to keep you and our team safe to enable you to decide to join us.

You will be invited to head to the Counthouse National Trust car park (TR19 7QQ) at Botallack where you will be met and asked to show your booking confirmation through your car window. You will be directed to a parking space and asked to be at your vehicle for the time your show starts. There will also be a clear meeting space for those of you who arrive on foot. The National Trust café and toilets will be open but please don’t arrive more than 30 minutes before your show starts.  We will collect you from the car park and guide you, socially distanced from others, to the designated cliff top area where one by one you will find one of the allocated spaces. You are welcome to bring a small blanket, hunting stick or folding chair with you or to stand. You will remain in this space until we guide you back to the car park at the end of the experience. The National Trust facilities will be available at the end of the show but again we ask that you remain for a short time to allow space for the arrival of later audiences.

Access

The 10.30am, 2.30pm, 4.30pm shows will be Sign Language Interpreted.

Please discuss any access needs with the box office team at time of booking and we can make additional arrangements +44(0)1736 810181
